Roast beef's cost is more than those of many other western 5 star hotels, but tastes not very juicy ( not "bloody"). 生魚片供應不及, 有時有缺貨狀況Some bottle-necks to serve fresh sashimi, no dishes over there after 13:30 - need to ask seafood-bar chef to cut some for you. 終於不再由廚師幫排隊眾人剖切,因此你可以自由取用,且從前過重的鹹味也不再出現,不過也等了許久才如此;
Hyatt waitress said oysters are imported from the US.
2011年2月 26日, lunch buffet (1) 海鮮吧台有生蠔 Shell oysters (live/raw) 但味道頗鹹 ,
這與台北喜萊登、台北福華飯店的生蠔不同,也與筆者過去在美國佛羅里達州 Florida、紐奧爾良 New Orleans、
或新加坡Singapore一些非五星級飯店吃過的生蠔不同。 此外,客人須排隊等師傅撬切開生蠔,師傅的動作很慢
― 尤其是沒有人排隊時(我到的最早),師傅不但慢慢撬切,還會幫你慢慢弄掉細砂;不知為什麼廚房不先清掉呢?
新加坡的小餐廳也可以做到。 2010年4月22日, lunch buffet (1) 客人須排隊等師傅撬切開生蠔 One seafood-bar chef/waiter opens (not very fast) and serves oyster for a waiting line. ( So, everyone probably can not be "greedy"). (2) 日式生魚片只1種 Only one kind of Japanese raw sashimi in seafood bar. (3) Mutton chop is tough for elders. (4) My uncle (senior citizen, elders age near 90) went to hospital for stomach problem after having their buffet. (he is fine after having Sheraton's buffet) (5) No coupons in Hyatt web-site.

raw fish, Japanese sashimi)。 ★ 2011年12月28日, dinner 客人很滿。生蠔又稍小了點,可能大的耶誕節時吃光了? ★ 2011年12月16日, lunch 海鮮吧台的生蠔,較今年的都大些。今天不慎摔破了一個沙西米小瓷碟,飯店不要求客人賠償。 ★ 11/ 11/ 2011, lunch 燒烤牛羊區掛牌 "roast mutton"的羊肉, 事實上是 "processed" roast mutton ― 加工過的羊肉、而非直接自羊身切下來的天然羊肉。 "竹蛤"殼內有許多「沙子」,經詢員工答覆: 應該是竹蛤"的碎裂殼;食用的方法應該是先在桌上免費飲用水內浸洗一下再食用。

鲣魚生魚片
(sashimi skipjack tuna or katsuwonus pelamis
) 為 "半生half-raw" 生魚片,
即炙燒過魚的外肉而內部則為生的,其他如鮭魚
(salmon) 則為100%生魚片.
國賓採取櫃檯式服務 ― 客人要求後當場切約5-6片的生魚片給客人,不同於大多五星級飯店(Shangri-La's,
Sheraton, Hyatt, Sherwood, Westin, Howard, etc)的開放式任取方式,因此看不到有人盤子堆滿生魚片大吃特吃
。四星級飯店如美麗信也是開放式任取,好像六福客棧2F過去是採取櫃檯式服務。
(2) roast beef red,但不算很 juicy, 旁邊還提供 ham。
(3) 熱食包括鵝掌( braised stuffed goose web),燒烤紐西蘭牛肉 roast
beef short-rib (New Zealand), 燒烤羊排(roast lamb with bacons、半熟紅肉滿好、但培根不利健康
bacon not healthy according to medical report), 燒烤豬腳的豬皮味道不錯(roast pork knuckles,
or namely, pig feet), etc。
(4) Haagen-Dazs冰淇淋 : 4 種 (coffee, chocolate,
mango,另一可能太甜故未試), 上次有二種凍的太硬不易挖取,這次改進 OK to me,
Meiji ice cream冰淇淋也有4 種, 未試 。
2011年 11月 07日 lunch:
生魚片鰹魚很不錯,鮭魚味道不夠好;今天沒提供生魚片沙拉。
Haagen-Dazs四種冰淇淋/SORBET,其中二種凍的太硬不易挖食,只比高雄漢來稍微軟一點點,台北喜來登或遠東香格里拉等沒有這個問題。
日式炸蝦(deep fried shrimp)仍不夠熱燙。
T-bone牛排與現切的燒烤牛肉bit乾乾的、不夠juicy,不像一般五星級飯店,可以選擇全熟或半熟的部位。
螃蟹肉不夠肥美(相對台北喜來登11/3 dinner特別如此)。
價格 (around NT890)與喜來登接近,但是在吃報飽的三大戰場 ― 牛排
(well-done roast beef)、 海鮮吧 ( 缺少任何貝類, 與生蠔) 、 冰淇淋
(較硬) ,卻相形遜色, 那麼顧客為什麼不吃worth the value的一間呢?
ps:今日順便到二樓粵菜廳(親戚在那用餐)逛逛,裝設頗雅。

生魚片沙拉很厚不錯,牛排全熟但不老不乾,台式羊肉壚不錯;
2種品牌的冰淇淋/SORBET( 明治
四種 ,
Haagen-Dazs四種),sorbet硬了點要費力挖食。
台灣產的生魚片包括鮭魚、鰹魚、鮪魚等。
日式炸蝦(deep fried shrimp)不夠熱。

(1) 海鮮吧台 提供多種日式生魚片(可供選擇的種類比台北的五星級
buffets多)
1) 日式生魚片包括Herring, Brunion, Markerel,
Salmon, swordfish/blue marlin, etc 約8 種(因中途有更換).
2) 進口生蠔 shell oysters (live/raw)相當大,尺寸與台北遠東 Shangri-la's hotel飯店幾
年前提供的相同。
3) 另有數種烹飪方式的蟹,日式炸蝦 Japanese
deep fried shrimps,等
(2) Roast beef 牛排雖紅但不算多汁(血or肌蛋白)。
(3) 8 種 Haagen-Dazs ice cream冰淇淋冰凍過度, 因堅硬難以取食;只比高雄福華飯店( Howard Hotel Kaohsiung )自助餐稍稍軟一點; 台北5星級(如遠東)飯店自助餐的冰淇淋 ― perfect soft for taste 完全沒有這種問題.
(4) 裝潢非常豪華, 但幾張在大柱後方的餐桌表面陳舊cheap。
(5) Some waitress served very quick, but some has done bad service to customers.

羊膝稍不夠嫩,藥燉土雞、牛、竹蛤燴南瓜蠻好。
生魚片四種,鮪旗鯛鮭。
冰淇淋為俄羅斯字體品牌。
2011年11月16日 晚餐 buffet:
燴石斑魚很美味。 牛排(Roast
beef)切的較小片, 但改進很多、 tender &
juicy與 Shangri-La's差不多。
羊膝與竹蛤燴南瓜很別緻。
生魚片約四種,鮪魚顏色頗為豔紅。
冰淇淋未至 Haagen-Dazs等 5 star hotels等級。
2011年10月31日 晚餐 buffet:
比上次(6月)人多熱鬧,二種螃蟹(熱的較佳)、三種生魚片、紅酒燴牛肉與石斑魚滿不錯。
2011年6月29日 晚餐 buffet:
(1) 參考美麗信酒店的自助餐價格 (視周幾而定),對我而言若干五星級飯店更便宜而划算, 如遠東 Shangri-La's, 最近正販售的優惠卷本,平均每人每次僅NT770 ( 請參考該飯店或蘋果日報 Apple Daily News, June 30, 2011;有的網站也有販售) 。
(2) 美麗信菜色點心種類不算多,可能僅五星級飯店 喜來登Sheraton、 君悅Hyatt's、遠東Shangri-La's的一半or 60%左右 。
(3) 美麗信主菜包括 Roast beef, 日式生魚片, ......
(4) 美麗信為 4星級飯店 。如您喜歡較寧靜這兒還不錯 ― 今晚截至離席時只有約十多桌客人。

(2) 約12: 40一些菜餚已不夠熱。
(3) 若干客人在點心區咳嗽所以筆者未嘗試味道。
(4) 午餐價格lunch price NT550, 我個人認為不如去漢來飯店 Grand Hi-Lai hotel's buffet (NT680)相對 "worth the value".
(5) 唯一好東西是Haagen-Dazs ice cream, 但是太硬以致無法挖食, ( you can't have too much );台北Far Eastern Plaza 5星級飯店自助餐的冰淇淋 ― perfect soft for taste 完全沒有這種問題. (test at Mar 6, 2011)

Excellent buffet, wide ranged dishes, I like those very sweet fruits, about 80% customers are western and Japanese. But lunch buffet does not serve Japanese style fresh sashimi in weekdays, so maybe try Howard Prince hotel not too far.

晶華酒店 Silk Palace of Regent提供魚翅宴為國際媒體批評 <Regent Formosa Taipei> has one among largest all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants in Taiwan, so, this restaurant is comparatively more noisy. In July 2008, <Humane Society International>, Washington D.C., USA, blamed Silk Palace of Regent (inside government area) Formosa's "Shark fin" feast. <the United News> of Taiwan reported that killing sharks is against world trend for conservation, damages under-water life environment, and cursed the way to capture the sharks is very cruel : the fishermen usually cut the shark's 4 fins, then put "useless shark" back into the sea, the wounded shark bled to die slowly. The Regent Formosa said they will not decide what to do until receiving Taiwan government's official document. (7. 23. 2008) The NPM asks Regent to sell The Chin-Dynasty cousin instead. (7.24.2008) <Apple Daily> reported at Sept 7,2008 that NPM is still providing with shark fin feast (large whole piece imported from South Africa ), this damages Taiwan's national image.

No raw shell-oyster, only a few kinds of Japanese fresh sashimi ( raw fishes), without salmon. Mutton (or lamb?) ribs and BBQ beef slices not too easy to chew. | FEP | 與其他五星級飯店相比,這裡菜色較少,但特色是偏向中式的自助餐。 Howard Plaza Hotel buffet restaurant of Memorial Hall is located in 1st floor of National Theater, Taipei, providing with 5 star food - more precisely, most of its foods are Chinese flavour, the restaurant is smaller, but full of Chinese atmosphere (more than many others) . You can have 6 different kinds of dim-sums, tender shark fish, crab and seafood - sea-cucumber ("hai-sen" 海參). Japanese raw fish (fresh sashimi ) only offered in dinner, no shell oysters. 5star | 地下一樓自助餐, Sherwood Hotel (Taipei, Taiwan) . 2010年10月11日 : Yesterday is our National birthday, 至少五種生魚片at least 5 different kinds of sashimi ( raw fishes salmon, swordfish/blue marlin, etc ), 二種蟹2 types of crabs, mussels, clams, etc 有些台菜。 late June 2006: raw oysters are put in the glass, not in usual way: attached to the shell. middle July 2006: roast beef without "blood", too well-done. They have a few Taiwanese native flavor food.

(1) 廣州 喜來登 Sheraton (2011年 8月7日 lunch) : 地點位於天河鬧區,價格約人民幣218,筆者用餐時偌大豪華的餐廳僅坐了五桌,據職員說是因為剛開張之故,海鮮吧台尚稱不錯,提供紐西蘭生蠔及 蟹、蝦、貝、淡菜、clam等海鮮,生魚片約五種包括鮭魚(據師傅說挪威進口)西陵魚(日本進口)等,熟菜比台北喜來登少,小牛排有香草等3種 sauce,冰淇淋未標註品牌。 女侍頗attentive。

2) TLC also visited most famous restaurants in Guangzhou,
e.g., 金盈樓 to eat 烏龜turtles (挑愈老愈大愈好), 廣州酒家( 廣州最famous的餐廳, 以點心與傳統粵菜聞名 ) 鎮海樓,九毛九麵館 (大公園內, 百種麵食,
麵的長度可由棒球場本壘拉至二壘)

Hotel Landmark Canton, a 4 star hotel, is providing 1/2 price all-you-can-eat buffet, with nearly rmb 60+ plus tax. (Sept. 9-12, 2008 )
Buy coupon one day earlier you get 40% off price - about RMB 102. Cold dishes include large field snail (some have sands inside), raw sashimi, mussel, etc, hot dishes change every day. (May & June 2010)
March 8, 9, 2011 : discount policy changed, lunch about rmb 120, dinner about rmb 150, they served shell oysters imported from Korea, and emerald snails (large), sashimi, ... very few customers seen when I was there, it's the highest river-view western restaurant in GuangZhou.
August 2011 : 限前一日購買之特價卷之價格比三月提高一些。
(4) 鴻星(東江)海鮮酒家 HongXing, 廣州最負盛名之海鮮餐廳,老外甚多,一、二樓常一位難求 ,一樓觀街景露台須最低消費額才能入坐 ;樓下大範圍區域陳列眾多種類活海鮮現選現秤現煮,包括蛇與一只砍下的鱷魚頭作招牌,SARS前供選動物之多令人胙舌包括果子貍、刺蝟(通常挑選最兇的最健康?)。 the most famous seafood restaurant (also namely Dong-Jian/East River, near ZhuJiang River ) adjacent to Hotel Landmark Canton has a popular but expensive dish, soft-shell tortoise, about rmb 200 for each. In Shenzhen seafood street (Ler-Yuan street, or goto beach), only rmb 50 for each, probably better to select a "People's choice" restaurant in that street .
May 2010 : Served dishes very slowly , some soft-shell tortoises with cheaper price. '甲魚'此地叫'水魚',價格差異大,荷葉蒸較美味,因客人多常須久等上菜
March 2011 : fresh-water tortoise price depends where it imported from, Thailand's are cheaper - around rmb 100, served very slowly. They also have crocodile/alligator, probably are cooked in different way from southern Florida's.

深圳希爾頓飯店抬高自助餐價格時,香格里拉周末海鮮自助餐降價When Hilton Hotel Shenzhen raises its seafood-theme buffet price for each Saturday, Shangri-La's Hotel cut its sea-food buffet price for each weekend.
They offer quite cozy atmosphere, not too many customers (maybe 20s) .
You may have small-sized oysters from Dalian city, as well as big clam, crab, Japanese raw-fish ( cut from big piece of tuna ), hot eel, etc end Nov. 2006

The Buffet hall is located in the very top floor, offering 360-direction version to view ZhuHai downtown. In summer 2008, lunch buffet (special price rmb 78) only offered in Sat. and Sun., dinner buffet for every evening. phone: 0756-8888128. Their oysters (special price lunch not included) are placed on shells, Not connect to the shell (manager said it's because they wash & clean oysters .... ). No garrantee what may happen if western people eat too many raw seafood. May 2010 : no more cheap price, now about rmb170 each person. Some times served better stuffs, some other days are not so great. ps: From 2006 till 2007, You can have around 40% price off after 7:45pm for each day, to enjoy seafood and some Chinese food, you can have "2 come, 1 person free" price at lunch time, but not many dishes there. March, 2011 : about rmb140 per person 提供中國生蠔與若干生魚片。 2011年 7月 31日 : 逢周六與日中午自助餐半價約100元,但昂貴之生蠔等不供應。燒考現煮要等許久。 2011年 8月 10日 & 11日: 近200元比起前些年價格大漲,晚餐自助餐菜色種類豐富,seafood bar包括象牙蚌、salmon, tuna, octopus, abalone(小型), kanpachi, yellowtail, roe of dace (廣州Sheraton翻譯為 XiLing fish) etc,但must留意粵海酒店並非五星級。曾電詢生蠔之產地,櫃台未作答覆。筆者用餐之二晚客人頗少。

◎ 2011年八月 : 周六晚之自助餐取消,改為不定時舉辦,可留下聯絡方式靜待通知;目前僅有自助早餐,房客約40-50元、非房客約70-80元。
